Hi everybody,

I've been lurking for the past several weeks while looking at a 1988 222 Osprey. So far I've really enjoyed your website. It seems that there are some really knowledgeable folks on here that are more than willing to share advice.

If all goes well, I'll be picking up my boat this week. I'm buying the boat from a friend so I've been out on it several times. She's definitely no beauty queen so I'll need to spend some time on cosmetics. The boat is a little underpowered with only a 150 Evinrude, but with a new baby on the way in about a month :D , a new motor is just a dream.

I'll post pics as soon as I can get some.

New member here too!  Just put down a large deposit on a 1985 20' Osprey with a 2001 115 Yamaha four stroke.  Hull looks to be in great shape but topside cosmetics will take some weekends to get her the way I want.  Since we own our own graphics business we will be doing our own decals but we are considering a boat wrap.  I'm not sure yet as I do want to take her back to original but haven't decided.  We are excited to pick her up weekend after Easter though.  I will post pics as soon as I can.  A lot of great advice and leads here and glad to be aboard!

I have not been able to pick up the boat yet, maybe this weekend.

Can anyone tell me if $2k is a fair price for the boat, motor, and trailer? I don't have any pictures yet, but last time I was out on it (6mo ago) the boat looked decent and the motor ran well. I know it needs some cosmetic work and there is a soft spot in the floor just behind the console. Also, one of the axles on the trailer needs some work, possibly replaced. The owner of the marine dealership where I'll be storing the boat (crappy subdivision rules!) said it sounds like a deal. I appreciate any advice...

Thanks,
James

Thanks Rick...haven't see too many similar "for sales" on the web to make an accurate comparison.
