Poly tanks or aluminum tanks?
« on: March 01, 2009, 12:59:34 AM »
Which would be a better decision for a tank, a poly or an aluminum tank?

The tank will be going in a 1970 22-2 below deck replacing its 20-30 gallon stock tank thats stuffed in the center console.  The shop I went to have several poly and aluminum tanks that majority of them were brand new.  The price on the poly was around $3.00/gallon and the aluminum was $4.00/gallon.  Its just a matter of finding the right size I need.

I'm considering putting a 70-80 gallon tank.  What are the pros and cons of each tank?  Any kind of help would be appreiated.

I also have a transom question in a different post.

I went with aluminum a little bit more money but I was told its worth it. I purchased mine from alloy metal works, you can find there info in resources on this site.
