74' 22.2 or 22.2 Flatback?
« on: July 21, 2008, 10:03:48 PM »
He guys I've been seeking a 69'-72 22.2 flatback hull to restore. But I have came across a 74' 22.2 which has a 10 degree modified "v". My question is: Which hull rides better? 22.2 flatback or 74"22.2 with the 10 degree deadrise? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

The 74 is going to ride  better, but won't be able to run as shallow as the flatback.

My 73 22-2 with the Porta Bracket all the way up will run in about 18 inches. Probally pole in less.  And it rides in moderate seas very well.  I really like the versatility of being comfortable inshore and offshore.
