Huh?
Is this another one of those satire things?
I mean, the boat goes in reverse the same as other props, but time to plane and top speed have never been a big deal for me in reverse...
See ya on the water!

Satire from me???? naaaaa
I was told the 5 blade props didn't perform very well in reverse and you had to use more throttle.

GF,
Does your copy of the High Five have the exhaust vents or is it the non-vented model? At some point Mercury added the High Five to their PVS (Performance Vent System) line up.

Based on the performance numbers you posted I've been looking at the High Five and it shows up in both ways on the used market. Not sure the vented and non-vented versions will have huge differences in overall performance...the only difference may be the PVS version could allow a little faster RPM spin-up for hole shot.

Mine is the non-vented version. It spins up pretty well on the hole shot; I'm not sure vents would make much of a difference on my setup.

High-5 on a Johnson?

Is there an adapter so that I can try the High-5 on my Johnson outboard? Is there another five blade that anyone is aware of that does marry up to a Johnson? By the way gas is at $3.99.9 here where we pay less, tax more, and encourage through workmen's comp, etc; the idea that only idiots work for a living. In otherwords the pay back is quicker now. Gary

Yes Mercury/Quicksilver makes the HighFive for Johnsons, but you might cough up a hairball when you see the list price:

You might keep an eye on eBay - I got mine there for $250 in like-new condition! If you buy a Mercury model, you can always switch out the hub and use it on a Johnson.
