With temps around 80
here in the Carolinas, I took the boat out, enjoyed the day, caught some fish
, and even ran some numbers on my new Quicksilver High Five prop. Great hole shot, better top speed, and improved efficency over my old 3-blade Quicksilver Power2 prop. The numbers are below, but notice it's in the 3 MPG range all the way from 25 to 35 miles per hour - peaking at around 4000 RPM and 30 MPH. That has always seemed like a good cruise for my 22-2CCP.
The old 2-stroke Merc really becomes a gas hog at wide open throttle though - 18+ gallons per hour...
