There are differences in the max width of the various 22 footers built by Aquasport over time. I don't know the exact beam width of the original flatback (I'm in the office and may have the info at home). In 1971, the 22-2 had a beam of 7'11" and I think this was the same as the original flatback (but as I said above, I need to check). In 1973, the 22-2 was also available with an inboard/outboard and the beam on that model was 7'9". In 1974, the 7'9" model also was available with an inboard. In 1975, the flatback was replaced by the Walters-design 22-2 but still with a 7'11" beam. In 1980, the 22-2 CCP with the deep vee was introduced with an 8' beam.
