HI all, I have a new to me and my first boat, 1988 AS 222 Express fisherman, 5.0 vortec I/O, when running at upper speeds the boat seems to favor , lean to, the left side, when I play with the trim tabs I can straiten it out for awhile but then maybe it want to favor, lean, to the right, play with tabs some more and get it running true for awhile and then back to one side or the other,, is this normal with a deep v boat??

No this is not normal. It could be a number of issues.  Wrong size prop, trim tab problem. I do not know. Something is wrong.

Is this with only you on the boat?  Or are there other people that are moving back and forth in the boat?

You could have water trapped up under the floor going back and forth.
Growth on the bottom?  Balancing of the gas tank?  Is the motor completley centered?  Improper loading? When you try and get up on plane the weight /load may be different than when you are going slow.
Pitch of the motor ? If trim of the motor is wrong, it is possible the tork of the motor and and a little bit of uneven weight displacement may be making your boat lean.

Seems like something weight-wise is shifting to make it shift leaning from left to right but another thing is it's an I/O and I don't have any experience with them.  Do you have any pix of the back of the boat?  Has anything been modified that you can tell?

I have a 86 222XF with 175 Yamaha O/B.  It does the same thing at high speed.  Last weekend, I stopped, and restrated and it quit for a while.  I had the others on the boat move around while is was leaning and it didn't make any difference.  There was no water in the bilge.  I think it's got something to do with baffles in the fuel tank, but would love to hear from anyone that's solved this issue.
