stringers

Well Just found out that I have a broken stringer. Now the deck has to come up. I should be done with derigging today. Then I'll cut the deck out. Wow the ride home with all the bumps didn't help. But the up side I will know that it was done.
Any insight from others that have gone threw this would be great

I haven't put it in the water yet. doing some repairs to the fuel tank hatch. noticed that it was holding water in the coffin. looked in rear hatch. an saw it big crack. So now I can do the back half or do the whole thing. I  will most likely do the whole deck now. I think I will close in the transome as well

Trailers can be unkind to stringers but I wonder if maybe there was a problem with the stringer from the day the boat was built.  I had a broken stringer on my 240 and it appeared to me it wasn't attached very securely to the hull to begin with.

both sides about 12"  to 18" back from transome snappped. from top to bottom. It has a gapp about 1/2" at  the top.  it apears it's the lower part of the stringer. I'm going to look in on the underside of the deck tomorrow.  I'll know more then. I really didn't want to have to all this till after fishing season. but crap happens. I really do like my boat thow

Half inch is quite a gap.  You may want to get it off the trailer and on blocks to true-up the hull before repairing the stringer.  I think you'll find the stringer's delaminated from the hull.
