ISO 271/281

Searching for a 271/281 osprey if anybody knows of one sitting around somewhere. Preferably in Florida

There is one listed in Palm Harbor on CL but I was hesitant to even contact them. That same boat was mentioned here a few years ago and they mentioned something seeming off about it. Here is the thread.

There is a 1988 2811 for $9995 (dealer) on BT in High Springs, Florida but you would have to convert it to CC. Link is:

The first link DanB posted is a boat we have seen bounce from owner to owner around FL.  I have only seen this one 271.

The 2nd link is to a Family Fisherman, we have some pics of another 281 FF in the water, in our gallery.

The 3rd link is to another 271 - I've never seen this one before. Be advised that the seller "Pops Yachts" is an internet reseller. The address he list for his business is a house not too far from me and he has no boats there. Just be careful, although he is paying to be on Boat Trader (I think).

Thanks for the reply, something is definitely off about the one in palm harbor. Was hopeful that I could pick that one up, but in my search I noticed it’s located in different areas throughout south Florida and the seller won’t respond. I figured this would be the best place to get tabs on one that might be sitting around

I’m realizing I might be waiting a while until I find one. Plan is to do a full restoration, closed transom porta bracket twin 200’s and a tower. Ultimate west coast Florida boat

It would be pretty cool to see one restored. Sucks taking a risk dealing with shady people online. It was the same with the classified ads in the Newspapers too though from what I remember. I did see this listing in Tallahassee on CL for 26.6XF for 15k but has no pics. Good luck with the hunt.

I would definitely be cautious for the one that looked to be in Stuart. It looks like a boat that was down in Miami that i could never get clear answers on a title or not. It sat there for a good while and the price was all over the place. There is a guy that has one with twin 300 Suzuki's on it that has photos on here as well. It looks to be a beast of a hull that can take seas well but is seemingly very wet. I think the weight from memory was 4900lbs without motors and has a 20 degree deadrise with about a 10ft beam. Hope you find one as there were two that were picked up over the years on the FB page where people shared the starts of a project but not updates as of yet.

That ad seemed to good to be true from the start . I’ve got a 246 I rebuilt a few years ago that has been a great boat, just looking for something bigger to get further offshore past the never ending red tide. I’d like to find the one with twin 300’s and ask a few questions

I don’t think he is very active on here anymore and don’t remember his name but what questions do you have. I dug really deep and was destined to find one myself but came across and more appropriate offshore hull to “rebuild”.

More or less curious if anybody has done a true stringer up restoration with modern composites in place of the water logged foam and wood in one and what the expected draft could be. Assuming with such a wide beam it would get relatively skinny for its size and allow me to fish how I typically would  but still provide ample size to sneak out in the 60 miles in comfort
