Top End Speed - Osprey 200 w/Yamaha 115 Four Stroke
« on: December 19, 2021, 08:47:42 PM »
I'm guessing this answer is on the board somewhere, but I'm unable to find.  Can someone please assist?  Looking to purchase this set up (used boat/motor).

Thanks!

Merry Christmas!

Speed is greatly effected by environmental and load factors....and these change every outing.  So putting that aside...I'd expect you'd see top end speed at best in low-mid 30's w/clean conditions and light load.  115hp motor on a 20ft rig that weighs in excess of 1.5 ton fully loaded is way underpowered.  I believe the rated max hp is 200hp for this hull....why invest $$$ in an underpowered hull is what I'd be asking yourself, imo.

For your comparison mindset, I have a 115hp hung on '76 170 and at best I'd see white knuckle 45mph....but the 170 hull is 1100lb.  The osprey 20' is 1900lbs, depending on the model/year.
