1999 Aquasport 215 DC possible purchase

Hello everyone.  I'm new to the forum and it's my first post.

We are going look at a 1999 215 DC in a few days. It's got a 99 Yam S150 on it. The boat looks to be in great shape and all of the upholstery has been very recently redone. From everything I've read, the 150 will probably be a little underpowered for the boat but I'm willing to deal with that for a while until it the motor either dies or I decide to upgrade.
Is there any major things I should be looking out for with these boats? Is there a lot of wood used in the construction?  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.  We are a young family of 5 and I'm looking for something that we can enjoy for a long time.

Looks good.

The Dual Console/Walkthrough/Bowrider has always been a good all-round cap shape. You can fish, ski or just cruise. It is a good family boat. I'm fairly certain it's based on the Osprey hull that Genmar was using during that time with a different (DC) cap.

Wood?
Well there's wood (of some type) used in the deck and in various areas of the cap. No wood below deck. The transom (1999) is most likely composite but I can't guarantee that. Still we have very few rebuilds of the Genmar hulls so...

You answered the motor question yourself.

Light reading. Really great for the old Hialeah hulls but the theory works on all hulls.

Thanks for the reply Captain and for the the good info. I still haven't had the chance to go see it but I can't wait to take her out for a ride.
