Been noticing a nice walkaround .  Its a 246 XS   Does that ring a bell?  Looks like a 1980's model

I think you're referring to an Express Fisherman (XF) - the XF model is the first true cabin models, the previous was the a cuddy. The 246 has a large amount space in the aft also.
