New fuel tank.. My wife has been very sick since Feb. 2018. Our boat sat idle. As a 1982 25xf it has the original aluminum 120 gallon tank. This past week I tried to raise her up.. When her unplanned dormancy began she had a half tank of fuel.. I got the hose and ears and thought I
turn her over. Looking at my mechanical fuel gauge it showed drop bottom empty. I took out the gauge and looking in there. There wasn't a drop in the tank. Could it all evaporate over the since the summer 2017? So I put some gas with seafoam in, about a gallon. I then looked at the transom drain plug area and there was the fuel. So what kind of replacement tank ought it be? Aluminum or polyethylene? I took the hatch up and it looks simple. She runs when she is running in both salt and fresh water in Maine. I'm also looking at a replacement engine. That's another request. Thanks Gary PS: Also any thoughts on repairing a s slow leaking fuel tank?
