Yes Captain,
It is original tank and the exterior top of tank is all powder white from corrosion. I assume the inside is as bad because when I replaced 10 micron fuel filter, I poured out fuel into bowl. Fuel looked OK, however after letting filter dry out, I sawed the top off the
1 month old filter and tapped on paper element over glass dish. A lot of beige colored particles fell out of pleats. My guess is that these particles are parts of corrosion from the inside of tank. I cant remove pickup tube from tank, so I have no way of know if there is a sock filter which is clogged causing my surging issues. Does anyone know if sock or some type of screen filters were used on early 80s factory tanks?
Thanks
Ed
