I had found http://www.marineengine.com/parts/johnson-evinrude-accessories/index.php?year=1974&model=Electrical+1974&section=Power+Tilt+Kit-70+Long%2C+85%2C+115+%26amp%3B+135+Hp&yid=34223&mid=34224&sid=35746

But all I see are parts - not the part number for the entire assembly. My motor didn't come with one and I'd like to add one. I've seen the cmc stuff - a little pricey.

Good luck with that. The trim system was from 1973 to 1977 as an accessory. You will need to hunt across the country for a complete unit. I had a complete assembly in stock about 20 years ago and sold it but even in those days it was rare that someone needed one.

the answer (via a dealer) is yes - 76 from a 135hp will fit a 74 115hp.

 Yep,  broaden your search
1973- 1976 50, 65,70,  85, 115, 135 trim and tilt.
1977 55, 70, 85, 115, Not  140, was the first year on internal trim and tilt like the new 200 V6.
Those trim systems are out there, you just have to hunt freshwater inland.

that' the exact list i needed. im searching ebay, searchtempest (craigslist) and facebook marketplace. any other suggestions? if i run out of luck, i may do a CMC pt-130 if i can find one used at a reasonable price and get it to texas.
