Garden hose stuck in scupper! Help
« on: March 08, 2020, 01:13:29 PM »

I have a 19 79 19.6 family fisherman inboard outboard
The rear starboard scupper  was not draining from the deck
So I got the idea of turning the garden hose on and shoving it in from
the outside scupper and blasting out whatever gunk was inside.
It worked great and the deck drained out real fast,
However now the male end of the garden hose is stuck in the outside scupper
I tried for over an hour to pull it out, I even tried to shove it all the way through
To see if I could get it to go through the topside scupper, that didn’t work either
These are original scuppers from aqua sport.
The hose went in OK but now I can’t get it out!,
it stops about 4 inches away from the male end of the garden hose. And it won’t pull out
Has anyone had this happen to them?
Any ideas of how to get the hose out of the scupper? without redoing the whole thing....

Thanks Kyle

Sounds like it may have a check valve in it. I didn't realize that FF had a upper and lower scupper. Pics might help us help you. Does it look like you can remove the upper or lower?

There may be a hose between the fittings, and it's probably catching on the edge of the fittings.   Definitely twist while pulling.  Maybe spray lots of WD40 or chain oil up there to help lubricate things.
I hope you get it out without surgery!
