Broken curved windshield
« on: April 13, 2020, 12:59:58 PM »
Hey everyone, first time here. I have a big problem hopefully someone can help. Usually most issues I can resolve myself but like most do it yourselfers when it comes to windshields you call a professional. So we had a windstorm the other day and something broken my drivers side curved windshield. Looking for a possible used piece. Already got a price for glass of 6k 😂😂😂 or polycast which is like a strong lexan for $1500. Neither of which I will pay. If I can’t locate a used windshield I’m going to attemp to make it myself from lexan. I have a 2002 aquasport explorer 21.5 any help would be great appreciated ty

First - you might want to consider making an insurance claim - this would likely be covered under your boatowners policy.   Probably a $500 deductable, but you will get OEM quality.

You can make one yourself out of lexan or plexiglass - use a heat gun or hair dryer to help with the bending - several good u-tube videos on that process.  You can flame polish the edges after cutting or use a buffing wheel and compound - again, check utube for this as well.

Good luck!
