Thanks for all of the input guys.  I'm going to proceed with painting the brightsides all over the hull right now.  I already have the paint and worst case, I'll just put some bottom paint over it.  Really I'm in a time crunch to get the boat back in the water for a few trips this month.  Here's an updated pic with 2 coats of topside over the primer - I figure the least I can do is provide some more pics and reading material for all of you who are in-between rebuilds right now and chomping at the bit  :hee20hee20hee: to get started again
How is the paint holding up so far? I am in the middle of stripping my 73 170 apart and the gel is screwed up badly on the back and bottom and I am going to paint the sides with brightside Snow White and figure I would give it a shot on the bottom while at it

It's holding up well and looks good.  But up close I can tell that I brushed it.  i would spray it if and when I do it again.  I've left it in the water once over night and didn't have any issues with it not being bottom paint.
