1995 175 Osprey fuel filter placement?

Just purchased a 1995 175 Osprey and will be doing extensive preventive maintenance before the first water test. I noticed that the fuel line comes from tank along the starboard side
across the transom to the port side thru the fuel filter and back to starboard and then to the fuel bulb.

Is this normal or did someone installed it there because there's more room? Help appreciated

Is your filter in a cabinet?  On my 230 the filter is in the port cabinet and the fuel comes from the tank down the port side to the cabinet, then exits and travels under the deck across to the starboard cabinet and then comes out of that cabinet with the other cables.

Yes, the fuel filter is in the port rear storage compartment. I believe that sometime in the boats life that the line was run on the starboard side for who knows why. I am in the process of draining all the fuel and will rerun the fuel line on the port side where I think it was supposed to be. Thanks for your input.

Maybe in that year they did route it on the other side???
