Difference Between Aerator & Bilge Pumps
« on: June 10, 2018, 11:45:00 PM »
What is the mechanical difference between aerator and bilge PUMPS?  I'm not asking how they differ aesthetically, purpose and function, or likewise.  I'm asking if they are mechanically built differently then what is/are the mechanical differences.  Strip a 600 GPH bilge pump and a 600 GPH aerator pump down to the guts, hook both up to 12v.....what's the difference?

There is no mechanical difference between bilge pumps and livewell/baitwell pumps.

There are small airator pumps that actually pump air for small minnow or shrimp buckets.  There are also some add on systems that introduce air or oxygen into the water.
