I've got the original seacock on my 1999 Osprey 200 as well, and am also interested in any advice on updating, troubleshooting, replacing. Any thoughts from members?

As long as 1) it is brass and 2) it works, why bother changing it?   The seacock in my '92 Explorer was something like plastic. I changed it out to brass.

That's all I need to hear, guys. Thanks! There was a piece in Boating magazine (or BoatUS?) recently that suggested regular maintenance of same, which prompted me to inquire here.
