fuel Tank Coffin Holes

1988 striper 200 question.
The coffin has 5 perfectly round 1" holes. 1 in each corner and 1 in the back center, all at the coffin base. I assume these are factory and are there for drainage into the bilge? Where they also used for straps for the original tank? (tank was already out when I purchase the boat)

It sounds just like my 175 Osprey. Yes, five holes just as you described. They were used for bands to hold the tank town. The fifth one is a drain that goes into the bilge.  Make sure that one is not clogged up (mine was).

thanks for the info. that's what I thought but wanted to confirm. the fifth hole looked clean but now I will double check for sure.
Now I'm trying to find out about a hard white/clear colored hose that is also coming into the coffin next to the fuel fill hose? Not sure what this hose is for? I believe it may connect to the thru hull that is on the starboard side, right around the water line. A drain of some sort? Forward bilge seems unlikely on this model?

Could it be the vent hose?

Thanks Rick - definitely not the vent hose. I have the vent hose identified. That's what's weird - there are 3 hoses coming in. The Fuel fill, the vent, and then this third hard plastic white sorta clear colored hose? I'm going to try to run a wire thru it this weekend and see where it comes out. I'll keep you posted. I also will try to get a picture up if I can.

I have something similar on my 175 Striper.  There are about six inches of thick walled clear plastic hose coming up through the wiring chase on the stbd side.  It appears to be coming from forward and I haven't been able to track the source as of yet.

exactly - mine is jammed in the hole with the fuel fill hose. So coming into the coffin thru that hole is the ground wire, fuel fill hose, and this stiff plastic hose - I say jammed in because it's tight with that stiff walled plastic hose in there. I hate to just push it out of there and install the new fuel tank and seal everything up without know where it goes and its purpose.

So it turns out the plastic hose attaches to nothing. it just runs from where the fuel fill hose starts on the starboard side down into the fuel tank coffin? I snaked it with wire fishing line and it went thru no problem. The only thing I can think of was maybe it was for wiring conduit? but the only wire there is the ground wire that goes from the fuel fill to the tank.
Has anyone ever seen this or heard of this? should I pull it out or leave it? does anyone know what its intention was from Aquasport?

Do you have a regular fish tape that you can push through it until it hits the side of the hull or cap or ?? and you can hear it hit?

Have the same plastic hose in my '88 Osprey 200. Went from the coffin, along with the fuel fill hose to the space tween inner and outer hull at the fuel fill area.  I pulled it out, and now it is stuffed down the fuel fill hose as a guide for when that hose gets replaced. I wonder if it was intended to ventilate the coffin in some small way?  From what you all are saying, it sounds factory original, and with a purpose, so I think I will put it back when the time comes.
