1983 222 verses 1977 222
« on: September 14, 2016, 06:10:32 PM »
I'm looking at two 222s and trying to decide which to purchase and rebuild.  One is a 1977 and the other is a 1983.  The need similar rebuild work, but i'm wondering how the two original hull compare.  Are the the same??  I can't find this info on the site, and while  i expect it is there, i could use a little help.  Thanks, South River

Remember that there are all kinds of 222 models: Family Fishermen, Express Fishermen, CCP, Osprey.  Some have a dash (22-2) and some don't.

Spend some time looking through our gallery.

They are both Ospreys which is why i posted under the osprey section.  However I'm confused because when i look in your gallery for the 1984 models, a 222 osprey isn't listed.  What am i missing.  Thanks!

I saw that too.  Not sure why it is not shown in the lineup - I'm sure they didn't skip a model year.
The hull didn't change for many years. The liner changed once in a while - like the number and shape of the hatches in the casting deck, the console may have changed.

Try this.

I don't believe they made this model in 84.
