Fuel Tank - 205 Osprey CC (1998 - 2003)
« on: July 09, 2016, 07:30:58 AM »
Hi All,

I have been researching the 205 Osprey CC (years 1998 - 2003) as the next hull I would like to pick up in the near future.  Is the fuel tank accessible to be removed and replaced?  Is it underneath the center console or is cutting the deck the only route? What type (poly or aluminum) of tanks were used in the hulls during this time period?

Thanks in advance.

I have a 2002 205.  The tank is poly, 76 gallons if I recall correctly.  It is at least partially under the console, and there is no removable deck cover, so yes, you would need to cut the deck and probably remove the console.  But since it is a poly tank, hopefully that would not be necessary.

Thank you for the feedback, Craig. I agree...Hopefully removal will not be necessary.

I own a 98 Osprey 205 CC, and it too has a poly tank. While there is no panel above the tank, I remember reading somewhere that to remove the tank you can remove the console and slide it forward and out. I don't know if that's right, but it would be better thanow cutting a whole in the deck.

That would be nice, but there is no hole below my console big enough to fit the tank through.  I think cutting the deck is the only option.  I haven't heard of anyone having to replace their tank in a 205 yet.  Hopefully it stays that way.

How about the 225 Osprey in the same range of years (1998 - 2003)? Were the fuel tanks poly?

Thanks, All!!!
