Hi all

I am looking to purchase a Bimini top for my 19-1 gull . Does anyone have any recommendations? I would like to install it myself. I would like it to stow forward and back if need be. Thanks for any help or experience mike

You need a pair of slide tracks and pivot hardware for the bimini (get an extra pair of hardware).  This allows you to slide the bimini forward or aft to move the shade. Find the gunwale cap center, centered on the console or just a little aft of center - mark a spot.  Measure from the cap how high you need it to be to have some space above your head when you're standing - maybe a foot above so your head doesn't cook. Typically you center on or just aft of the center of the console, so mark a spot and then measure forward and see if the height you measured is going to lay on your railing or not and also where the same measurement will land going aft.  You also have to figure out how many bows you want, 3 or 4.  Aluminum or stainless?  Stainless is heavy.  Then go shopping locally so you save on shipping.  You'll see the type of fabric they offer as you get quotes.
Here is what you can do with the extra pivot hardware - have them make an extra set of poles "x" long depending on the length of the hypotenuse of the angle between the vertical closed bimini and the track:
