Fuel Tank for 1988 Striper CC

I'm looking a Moeller PN# 032518 for a 1988 Striper CC. the tank dimensions are 36.75″L x 18.75″W x 10.50″H. The height is to the top of the fill, the actual tank is 7.25" high.
The lady at Moeller tells me I need to account for another 2.5" on top of the fuel fill for the hose to make the bend which makes it 13" which would be right up against the deck cover.
Has anybody installed one of these tanks and had it fit ok? Or does anybody think it will be ok? it is the lowest height tank Moeller makes.

Tanks with vertical full connections are difficult for small boats unless you mount it under the console and have your fill location on the console instead of the gunnel.  When you spoke to the lady at moeller, did you ask it she had any tanks with a horizontal fill connection that was less than 13" tall total?  The tank itself can be taller, as long as the overall height is less than 13", right?

Agree - I will look further - thanks for the info. I'm also thinking where the cooler seat goes, to possibly make a box from Starboard that I can put a fuel tank in. I won't use that cankooler anyways.

I'd get one that leaves you with more like 4-6 inches.  I have a Moeller and theres about three inches and its not enough.  Causes a kink in the fuel fill line.  I can get exact measurements this weekend of how far from the deck it is.
