Shaft Length for J200TXEUA
« on: May 21, 2016, 04:34:17 PM »
Pulled my lower to replace and the upper shaft is grooved and has pitting. I am going to replace but need to know shaft length. The overall measurement from end to end of my old one is 30 5/8 or 24 1/4 from top of water pump to gear end, the number on the shaft is 338557. Is this a 25 inch or 30 inch drive shaft? Thanks in advance for any help.

The letter after the "T" indicates shaft length in omc outboards "s"is short or 15" shaft "L" is long 20" shaft and "X" is extra long or 25" shaft if it were an extra extra long 30" shaft it would be a "Z" in that place

Thanks Levi, I will order a replacement. Since I bought the SEI lower figured I might as well replace my 20 yr old shaft as well. Also ordered new gaskets for the exhaust housing and shift rod interface.
