240 Sea Hunter

Hello all.  Great forum you have here.  I've been a member at THT for years and I see some familiar handles here.

I recently became aware of the 70's Aquasport 240 Sea Hunter side console model and I love it.  Actually I have been searching for a boat like this for years -- ever since I first saw the Mako DC285 and the Tiara 2700 Offshore, which have the same layout but are much bigger (10' beam) and heavier and require twins.

I've spent a good chunk of today reading through some old rebuild posts.  Although I would love to tackle a project like that, realistically I don't have the time or the space to take one on.  If I ever see a redone 240 Sea Hunter for sale for reasonable cash I will pounce.  If you know of one for sale I'd love to hear about it.

In case anyone here does have the time and is inclined to redo one of these, there is currently a well used example posted on the Boston Craigslist for short money (around $1600).  Looks like it needs a lot of work but the ad says it has "new" tanks.  Take that for what it is worth.  Not sure the protocol for posting a link to the ad on the classifieds here since I have no affiliation, but there you have it.

Also, I am currently looking for a 17-18 foot CC as a second boat.  The 170 is high on my list of candidates, so I will likely be asking about those as well.  Also will be checking the classifieds here regularly.

Best Regards,
Mully :thumright:
