Trim tab gauges ??
« on: December 08, 2015, 06:42:17 AM »
On my trim tabs there is no Gage's to tell you the position of the trim tabs. Can you install a gage to tell you the position on the trim tabs?  Has anyone done this ?
It's a 2003 explorer 250
Thanks

Yes and yes.

I'm not sure what brand you have but here is the Bennett link.

Here's the Lenco link.

I run the this.

My tabs are mid 90s generation and a couple of years ago I upgraded to the unit above. The thing is, I use the indicator mainly on planing from start. After that, I adjust by bow and sea conditions. Tabs are a great tool when used with your motor's trim, tachometer and fuel burn gauge (Flow Scan). For years I was a "seat of your pants" guy and still set all of the above up that way. By using (and trusting) your gauges, you can make fine adjustments that result in better fuel economy and performance that might go unrealized with the ol' "assometer". :ScrChin:

Good luck. :thumright:
