I own the 22-2, it's a 79 with 470 merc, have an opportunity to own grady 1980 with twin 470 mercs for cheap, was wondering what you guys thought. My 79 "Morgan Joy" is awesome. Anybody know anything about the GW kingfish?

I have not personally owned a Grady White, but I have fished them and can say that they have a well deserved reputation as a great boat. I can't remember the model off hand, but I know it was a 25 footer and handled the water like a champ.

Having said that, 35 year old boats that haven't been taken care of aren't worth much besidespecially a good design.

My two cents... Good luck.

Loaded to the gills with wood coring. Even if it was free, you still have to deal with rot and weight gain. Sounds like a potential nightmare to me. The 470's were cool engines 35 years ago! Plus who knows about the drive unit conditions. You could spend boo-koo bucks just getting it reliable. Steer clear.
