1998 Osprey 175 deck composition

Can someone tell me what is the material used in the deck of my 1998 A/S 175. I have a soft spot between CC and cooler seat and trying to figure out how to clean it out and inject it. Is it necessary to kill rotting micro organism before injecting with epoxy? Any advise is appreciated.

The sole is end grain balsa with glass on both sides. Not sure of the need to kill microbes.

Tks Rick. I read here on the forum that someone suggested antifreeze to kill micro organisms before injecting the epoxy. Hopefully, someone will have some info on that process and how long one must wait for it to dry before pouring the resin. John
