Gas gauge, fish well, bilge
« on: August 15, 2015, 11:27:15 AM »
My gas gauge is stuck on full. The fish back water pump, bilge pump have no power. Would all of these devices be on the same hookup to power. Would there be a fuse that is blown. Not real good with electrical and Loki g for a place to start. . 2003 - 17.5 osprey with a 90 hp Yamaha
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
John

JM,
You may have several things going on here.

First, the fuel gauge could have a bad sender or the wiring connections on the sender itself are corroded.

Note that these threads link back to each other but they all address corrosion, proper wiring and function.

Should you need to replace the sender, this model is popular with members doing same.

Second, your model year should rule out the infamous "blue connector" but you never really know what happened the day your boat was wired so.... check for this device as well as the fuse/breaker for each pump.

If you have the white reset-able breakers, they have been known to corroded at the connection (as stated in the second link).

Good luck. :thumright:
