Bildge pump hose
« on: June 23, 2015, 05:59:02 AM »
I need some help with the placement of the bildge hose on a 19.6 osprey (1971).  Currently, the bildge comes up through the deck, near the transom, connected to a 1" PVC pipe.  I'm assuming
That the bildge just pumps onto the deck and the water goes out of the scuppers.  I would prefer to pipe the bildge to pump the water directly outside of the boat.  If you have any ideas or suggestions please let me know.  Thanks!!

Hi Nor,
These old hulls didn't have a bilge pump so that was added by a previous owner.  What kind of access do you have to the bilge?  Any pics?  Pics would help us think it through with you.
BTW, your hull, if a '71, is a 191.  The 196 started in '72.  The 191 is a special hull that was made for a handful of the early years.

Thanks for the info.  My title says 1971???  I will upload pics tomorrow.  I did measure the hull, and it measured 19.6.  So, the hull must be 72?  Thanks!!

Here is a pic of the profile of a 191 - a lot of sweep on the sheer/cap

Take a pic of the bottom of the hull at the transom.  The 191 has a strake that came all the way back to the transom - forming like a "pad"

it's not flat but kind of round and you can see the strakes about a foot of center each side.

Versus a 12 degree hull

Thank you!!  I will send some pics.  My boat looks like the first pic that you sent.  She is getting a new motor today and then new wiring.  I will definitely send you a few pics.  I would really like to know the exact year.  Thanks again.

When you post pix don't attach them, follow the instructions here - it's easy to do. http://classicaquasport.com/smf/index.php?topic=12725.0

Here's a link to a 68-69 catalog and the 191 Osprey
http://www.classicaquasport.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=11788&title=1968-69catpg5&cat=744
and a spec sheet from '71 - length is a little shy of 19'6" though
