Lost At Sea For 66 Days – Sailor Rescued off Cape Hatteras - "The Graveyard" does not get this one:
What an amazing story! 66 days at sea and surviving on raw fish and rain water while hanging onto the hull of his sailboat.
The U.S. Coast Guard says a German tanker M/V Houston Express spotted Louis Jordan and his 35-foot sailboat approximately 200 miles east of Cape Hatteras around 1:30 p.m. The 37 year-old Jordan was reported missing by his father on January 29th and was last seen in Conway, South Carolina on January 23rd.
Thursday afternoon the Coast Guard said that a helicopter from Air Station Elizabeth City was en route to medevac Louis Jordan to a Norfolk, VA hospital. Louis Jordan arrived at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in VA about 7:30 p.m. and was able to walk inside, with a Coast Guard crewman assisting him.
