Books to learn restoring a boat
« on: August 17, 2006, 03:47:11 PM »
I want to start getting my hands dirty and take on an older 22.2 boat for refurbishing.  I would first like to get some education on how to start working with glass, resins and gel coat prior to taking on a project.  Can somebody please recommend a book or other resources which can help me learn to do what I want to accomplish.

Would my local fiberglass supply house have books like that or possibly amazon?

Thank you in advance.

more than likely numerous books on the subject, but with all respect you probrably don't want to learn on yours or any others u care about. Ideally you would shorten the learning curve on a junk boat 1st. Or find a good shop and have them involve u in the process while paying them for the finished product. Made the mistake of hiring a surfer friend to do a tiny patch job once, 2 inch scuff turned to 12 inch nightmare. The detail to laying and finishing correctly can't be read
