new aquasport in the family!
« on: February 23, 2015, 04:38:58 PM »
found this on craigslist early this morning, 1993 Aquasport 210 Explorer, immediately called the guy and left to go look at it, the pics in the ad showed a REALLY nice boat so im thinking, maybe its too good. we pulled up and i told my mom "WOW!  we're leaving with this boat!" i opened every hatch, stuck my head in every hole, and this boat was SPOTLESS! motor fired right up and sounded perfect. we didnt even make him an offer, we gave him his full asking price of only $6,500 with the all aluminum and stainless trailer! he was the original owner, all original papers and service records, kept under a cover and basically in a garage. my mom and i went halfers on it to buy it for my dad, he worked a mile away and we surprised him at work and he was blown away.

aint i a good son or what?!  :25:

perfect shine!

WOW! :great02:

Does that look familiar.

Can you still read the CG capacity plate? Appears so in the photo of the helm.

That rear insert would fit perfect in my hull.

it must be seen in person to appreciate how great of condition she is in. when my dad saw it, he immediately fell in love with it. it was the exact boat he wanted. and was blown away that my mom and i bought it for him so he could be back on the water for the summer

I'm home and on a real monitor.

It looks really nice!

Now, I have a few questions.

First, thanks Aaron for the closeup of the CG plate. :tu:
Please note is states the capacities for a 230 Walkaround (bet it's a "leftover" plate from 91) but who's counting.  :oops2:

Now, is the large, hinged "rectangle"on the inside of the transom (just above the deck) some sort of access to the inside face of the transom (say where the upper Armstrong Bracket mounts)?

I can see the lower mounts in the pic with the fish box/deck access covers removed.

Also, what's inside the hatch you show open on "top" of the transom? Storage?

It appears the transom is built straight across where the "outboard cutout" would be for the non-bracket models.

The decals are the start of the 94 and beyond models.

Even the cabin cushions are the same color. 8)

The enclosure is THE icing on the cake for me.

What a find. :clap01:

took the boat out for a quick shakedown run, she ran good, but i still gotta pull the carbs and service them. over 4500 rpm she ran great, less than that she was inconsistent... after running her today, i definitely plan on adding trim tabs, and hydraulic steering.

after getting back in, i pulled the plugs and all but one was wet, so one cyl was running lean. pulled the carbs, and as suspected, intake tract for that side was bone dry so that cyl wasnt getting fuel... gonna drop the carbs off at the shop in the am so i can test again later this week
