Steering 17.5 aquasport

I will need to replace the steering on my 2003 17.5 aquasport. Any thoughts on what steering might be best. I have a 90 hp yamaha

Can't go wrong with hydraulic steering if it's in the budget! Baystar or Seastar are pretty good systems, easy to install and you won't believe how much easier it is to steer with hydraulic..

If it were my 175 I'd put a Baystar kit on it.

I have both in separate boats and hydraulic is hands down the nicest by far.  If it could be considered a disadvantage, the only drawback with hydraulic is that you can not grab the engine cowling and turn the motor itself when standing by the stern. ( a complete non issue really)  That is what really makes it great, you are not fighting the motor torque throughout the speed range.

I had the zink fall off the 150 one day and never knew until I put the engine up and put her on the mooring and saw that the tab was gone... :icon_eek: :icon_redface:
