Typically not a problem once you get the screws to break loose. My preference is to remove the entire trim unit to do it which gives you full access and the ability to clean and inspect the entire unit. Very easy to remove the unit. Drive out two headed dowel pins that hold the hinge pins in place, then drive out the large diameter hinge pins and remove the assembly. You may have to separate the lower cowling halves in order to fish the the old trim wires out and new ones in. Put the unit in a vice between two 2X4's to prevent gauging of the aluminum in the jaws and service away.
