Jay that rig is going to be stiff enough to do a drop test on!!!! I vote lite composite for the deck, with the strength you have added, you have also added more weight then was originally in the boat. Don't compromise the build schedule, you are doing GREAT!! On 24" centers you don't need 3/4 inch coring, especially if you multiple glass layers. You can do the math on how much you have added if you have kept track of what you have put down. It would be interesting to know, maybe a complete non event once you figure it out.

With what Dave said, you could get away with 1/2 no problem. 2 layers of 1708 on each side and the bulkheads, will have no flex and be plenty strong along with saving coin.

Thinking ahead a little and would like some opinions....

The hullsides of this boat are kinda thin in my opinion....maybe 1/4".  And since I've removed the liner, the rough inner hullsides are exposed and will need to be faired out (looks like heavy roving material) before being painted, etc.

What are my options here? Divinycel or something similiar?  Grind, sand, fair, and paint it and leave it?

We went with divinycell, very pleased with it. Easier to finish, and really stiffened/sound-deadened the hull.

+1 on the DIVINYCELL, use the 1/8" scored and put 2 layers of glass over it. Will have less fairing to do

Well I had to relocate the boat to a different location.  So while I had it on the trailer, I slid it in the lake to see how it sits in the water, and to see where the waterline was.  The chine/hullsides are still above the waterline as you can see.  I havent added too much weight obviously, but I was just curious.  And man does it look good sitting in the water!  Seeing it blocked up all the time, I kinda forget what great lines the boat has sitting in the water....Gives me some motivation to keep up with the rebuild.

Pretty! And without power, looks like large dory. Pretty much where all of our boats emanated....dories.  Put some jumbo oar-locks on, and Paul Bunyan could row her across the sound!
