I did this on my boat. if you start with basic stock teak, just plain a small blade thick section off the outside edge. This is to help compensate for the small lip on the console base, if you flip your console you can see the gap there, once you factor in that lip,just do a rounded edge and you'll be good to go.
I changed my corner joints so the do not allow water to go down the seams (front to back).
my teak was in surprisingly good condition for being 40years old (40 years on the boat).
