My Summer Project - upgrades, paint, and new motor
« on: July 16, 2014, 10:35:10 AM »
Decided it was time to give my 1981 222 a facelift.  Started by grinding all of the old paint, and gel coat down to the original fiberglass.  Fixed several weak spots around the boat.  Reinforced front deck , gunnels, anchor hatch and large hatch.  Filled in A LOT of holes and cracks.  After all of this, painted inside and out with 2-part epoxy as my primer.  Finishing coat was a urethane based paint.   Sprayed boat inside and out with the urethane paint.  Then, taped off interior, mixed in some non-skid and rolled that on.

Very pleased with how it turned out.  And, to top it all off, had a new Mercury 150 4-stroke put on her.

You can check out all of my project pics here... My site photo album.
