Bimini Hardware - Where to get it??
« on: May 26, 2015, 12:48:15 AM »
I have a 246 Explorer.
I'm looking for the Nylon mounts that screw to the boat for mounting of the Bimini top and allow for attachment of the top and framework.
All I can aquire at West Marine are Taylor Made parts with a different screw spacing and taller height.
Please if anyone knows who made the OEM parts let me know.

Thanks.

By now I'm sure you know there is a lot of Bimini hardware on the internet, it's just a matter of matching up (as close as possible) to what you have. I don't believe we have ever had a request for this but....

A pic and a couple of dimensions would help us look.

Good luck.

Is this the type mount you are looking for?

One of the better things I did with my bimini was using a slide for the mount.  I allows you to move the bimini up or back up to 36" - it was handy for fishing as well as shade when the sun was in a different place:

The top link is what I am looking for as far as type but as every thread at some point gets hi-jacked the next two links clearly could not be used on a 246 explorer as it is a walk around. I simply want to match the OEM with the same screw hole spacing and height.

Yes right above the clear section which can be un-zipped for air or night vision.

Might be best to take what you have to a local canvas shop and see if they can match it.
Based on what can I see in your signature pic the bimini pivot is attached to the rear portion of the windshield frame and the bimini ties to the front of the windshield with "camel backs" at the windshield corners. That seems to be the factory way they installed them.

Center -to-center hole spacing is between 1-9/16 and 1-5/8"
Who makes these things?
