C, while that 165 is an exceptionally clean boat...it's still a 17 year old boat.  Seeing as brand spanking new back in '97, she probably went out the door, boat, motor, and trailer, for around $10K, no boat in the world, and I mean NO boat, is going to hold 70% of it's retail price after 17 years.  Not even 50%...
Not true about "no boat". I guarantee that I could get up to twice what my boat originally sold for in 1984 ($6000).

Phil your going to really like that Zuke.. About bullet proof as long as nothing hard goes throught the fuel filter and there is no reason that should happen.. I had the 115 on a 20' Angler and one day noticed she ideled a bit rough and would gag a little when I honked on the throttle.  Expecting all kinds of nasty things, I pulled the cowling off and found the engine fuel filter was half full of water.
I emptied that out and she ran like a Japanese race bike.... I also installed a water separator too.  Loved that motor!!

Welcome aboard!!

I just got her back from having the Impeller work done. She needed it. And I am just starting to go over and outfit. Replaced that last run of Fuel line past the bulb as it was ratty looking and poorly clamped. The fuel tanks seems to be free of water and I put about 7 gallons of non Ethanol into her to fill it up and then dumped some Stabil Marine in to the mix. All the gauges seem to be functional as well. Oil gauge and Fuel. Lights and horn working. Has a switch labeled Courtesy Lights which I am not sure what that even does. Then an accessory switch also unknown its purpose. The bildge pump is working good as I saw when I washed the insides the first time. The Livewell switch makes something hum but I do not know its location! LOL.. I'll run that down.

Going to haul her out of the barn tomorrow and wash again and start polish/cleaner and get any of the oxidation and water line marks out. Bought some of that 3M stuff and it appears to work real well.

I bought one of the little pump kits for the foot oil change and a quart of Oil so I'll do that once I can find some new Seals for that. Ill try and run to a Suzuki dealer tomorrow and see if I can score those. And I need a fuel filter too.

Then I got to fit a front cooler seat I guess. Probably just an Igloo Marine with cushion or something cheap and fast like that for now. If my Yeti wasn't the tan one and the cushions for those not so expensive I would use it. I am open to suggestions on this.

Working on electronics selection too. Half settled on the Lowrance Elite 5 DSI with the inland lake transponder. I can pick that up for just under $500 so its in budget. There is all the mounting holes for one and they look like this is near the exact mount holes. Transom as well.  I have a little hand held Marine radio to use already. I just need to screw on the Mount.

Also... could use a new Bimini top as its a bit stained and has a couple frayed areas. I can live with it but that brings up something. I am uncertain of what replacement fits. I am inclined to think its a "Three bow". But pictures of some of them aren't the same as mine. Mine has one more support bow rather than straps in the rear. But it still has three bows across the top. So I think thats right?
