246 ccc cable size???

I am currently rebuilding a '75 246ccc and am trying to get a majority of my parts ordered. I'm a bit nervous to take a guess on how long my control cables, battery cables, and hydro steering lines should be and was wondering if anyone with a similar set up could help me out. Like I said it a 246 ccc, so it the center console with the cuddy and I will be adding a 29 inch bracket to the back with a '99 225 johnson ocean runner on it.  There were no cables or lines on the boat when I got it so I have nothing to go off of. The console is the stock console not going to be moved at all and I will be running the lines through PVC down the stringers to an enclosed transom then out the back to the motor. From the rough measuring I've done I've figured around 20 ft might be enough. By the way the batteries will be under the console. Please let me know what you guys think.  Thanks

Shift/throttle cables, get's you close.  4' in the console.  About 12' aft under the deck.  If your rigging goes to the starboard corner, 2' in the box.  4' out the transom to the lower pan.  22' should do you.  Hyd hoses basically the same...

I have the same boat and hate the fact that it's 1800 miles away right now or I could actually answer your questions in detail.   However, since you're adding a bracket and still have and plan to use the original console, your best bet is truly to snake the wiring chase and just mark the snake so you know what you need.  The console does have a ton of room for an excess coil of cables, but of course you do want to try and avoid that if possible.  Just remember better longer than too short, but you may just need to finish your transom and wire chase rebuild work first to be sure.
