Going to look at an 84 22' Aquasport CC, need opinions...

did u look at the 22 center  console was there an issue with it please advise as i was going to look at it also

These boats DO NOT have a lot of wood in them compared to other boats.  In that year the transom is wood and the underside of the sole.  The important stuff like the stringers are not wood, when everyone else made there's out of wood.
I agree that a survey is probably a good idea but have also heard from an seller's point of view that a surveyor can sure damage a boat from all that poking with picks and such.

I am no boat builder and for that reason before I purchased my Explorer I searched for a marine surveyor. 2 surveyors told me aquasports have a lot of wood, they both would have performed moisture meter testing to be sure I was not buying a wet boat.

Not yet, his asking price is so high up there I dont know if its even worth the time.

Not trying to argue with you, just making sure you understand what you purchased. I'm sure they check every boat the same and probably put the fear of God into you so you would use their services. Just so you know, Aquasports were known for industry leading woodless construction - SB can chime in here support this claim from a builders point of view, since he build Aquasports for a few years.
The year Explorer you have has a poured transom and the stringers have no wood (mine too in '92).  Above the transom on both sides is wood but is not structural - supports the lifting eyes in the back. The sole has end-core balsam like most other boats, the top of the cabin (seat up front) has wood backing and the hatches are backed with wood. The walkways around the cabin probably are backed with wood too.
My buddy - a non-boater - bought what he thought was a good boat (I think it was an older Grady) and asked me to check it out.  I opened access to the bilge and could tell immediately that the stingers were wood and soaked - no poking or anything. Looked like 2x16s or something. I could scrape soaked wood from their sides    Luckily he was able to back out of the deal.
