Well, I just bought my first Aquasport and couldn't be happier.  Its a 222CCP which was gutted down to the bare hull and rebuilt/reinforced for offshore use a few years ago.  Twin Johnson 120's, t-top, leaning post and the "coffin box" fish box.   Here's a picture of the boat.  Any quirks I need to be aware of with this model?  The baitwell from hell, as I've seen them described here, was removed in the renovation.

Wow, now that's coming in with credentials! Great looking rig!  So now give us the rest of the story, more photos, what year is the boat, more photos, what do you know about the history, where are you located, more photos, what is on your mind, did I say more photos?

Welcome aboard.

Hey!  Here's what I know about the boat:  Originally it was Ted Turner Jr.'s boat.  The hull is a 1978. He used it as a tender to ferry people back and forth between yachts that were competing in some round the world race, after which he put it into storage.   The person I bought it from bought it from Ted in 1992, tore it down to the bare hull and reinforced it, refoamed it, etc for bluewater use.   This work was all done professionally at a yacht builder in Charleston, SC (I think he said Atlantic yachts?).   He bought a pair of new Johnson loop charged 120's in 92, but the boat didn't go into service until 96.   Also put a pair of Bennett trim tabs on it and a new 120 gallon gas tank.  Since then though he only used it about 10-15 hours a year, but was meticulous in the upkeep, including engine upgrades (new VRO2 units, power packs, rebuilt carbs every few years, etc).  T-top and leaning post were custom built for the boat, and have Lee outriggers on top of the t-top.  I'll have to take a few more pictures of the inside, but here's a few more of the outside.

Welcome!  You have a classic CCP with an interesting heritage.  Looks to be in great shape - how about some interior shots?  Did the owners manual come with the boat?  A .pdf of the manual would be a great addition to the site!

Glad to have you with us...

WOW!  Don't see 'em dressed out to the 9's like that too often.  Blue water boat for sure.  Congrats on the great find & welcome to the fleet!

Unfortunately the owners manual didn't come with the boat.  I'll get some interior shots next time I'm at home with the boat.  Going to hopefully get it on the water this weekend.

Welcome to the site, I'm pretty new here too but I've spent the time and have read about every post and always look for more as I do love these boats.  How do those twin 120's go?

It'll do about 55-58 depending on load, water conditions, etc. Very fast, almost too fast.  Speaking of the motors, does anyone know anywhere I could get a cowling decal for one of them?  If you're looking at the back of the motor, the left hand decal is missing on one.

Thanks
Chris

You could probably take a digital picture of the one you have and take it to a sign shop. They could make a new one sized to your specifications.
