steering linkage length?
«

a couple months ago, i changed out my motor to a Yamaha 150 (from an evinrude 140... I kept the same setup- motor on the transom, with the cable steering.
i have noticed with the new motor that I do not have the tigher turning radius that I used to have. Do they make different length steering linkage arms?
only ones I have seen are the 11.5" lengths...

Chris, steering arms on motors usually have multiple holes by which to attach the drag link or, on hyd steering, the cylinder. Try moving the motor end of the drag link to the furthest fwd hole...the one closest to the end of the arm.

Yeah Chris, it is what it is. My guess is that the "range of motion" of the Yam just isn't as great as with the Evinrude...
