Did they put the hull number for the 290 Aquasport Tournament Master any where else other than the Transom. If so, where? Thanks for your help. Fighterpilot.

The HIN should be there around the transom somewhere.  If the boat had transom work done in the past the number may have been obliterated.  If you have a valid registration doc. for the boat the HIN should be listed there.  If not, the boating div. in your state can run the registration numbers on the bow to find the original HIN.  If you have neither number your boating div. can assign a HIN.

Went through a similar drill with my 240.  Lots of back & forth with the state but finally got everything squared away.

Hey Fighterpilot,

Some aquasports have a metal plate hidden under the rub rail with the hull number.  They did that so that if the boat was stolen and the hull numbers eradicated, you could still prove that it was your boat.  Don't know how many they did that way or in what years but the last 17' AS that I had needed the rubrail removed and I discover the id plate during that process.  I'm not suggesting that you remove the rubrail but if all else fails, you might be able to loosen it a little and see if there is one on your boat.  Mine was on the port side near the stern.
