Will a Yamaha hub fit a Johnson prop shaft?

Generally, Mercury and Yamaha props are interchangeable, but Johnson/Evinrude are different than Merc/Yammi.  You can re-hub some props (Michigan and Solas, for example) for different fitments.  The hub kits are around $20-30.  So if you find deal on a nice set of stainless Michigan props with Yamaha hubs, you can change them over to Johnson/Evinrude for about $20 each.  Not so with all props, so check carefully and good luck!

Jon, Merc makes their Flo-Torq kits to fit almost any prop to the shaft you have...

We used a lot of PowerTech props at PL, so we obviously were using hub adapters...

Corner of 520 and A1A...

As usual, SeaBob is correct on the Mercury Flo-Torque props - they basically copied the Michigan design and offer a similar setup with interchangeable hubs.  Just watch out for many Mercury/Quicksilver props that do not have the interchangeable hub if you want to install on a Johnson/Evinrude.  Info on Flo-Torques is on the Mercury Marine website:  http://www.mercurymarine.com/propellers ... s/flo-torq
