opinions on yamahas

pros and cons, experience, what to look out for..

Both Yamahas are basically the same price.
Johnson is about $1000 less

Will be going on a 22-2 with the original transom, its solid and in good shape. if I go with a 25",,, I have a static jackplate to raise the motor to the correct height.

Not fair Chris!! I would vote for either Yam due to the electronic injection and timing and only because of efficiency...

I've run carb'd motors until my current OX66 and the difference is there.  Granted something goes wrong electrically it will be a bunch more costly to troubleshoot/fix but as long as we have Farley, John, Marc and Andy  (Fitz, jdupree, flounderpounder, SIM) I figure we will be ok..

The OX66 is a very dependable motor, but a bit thirsty.  It gets my vote
